What a weekend!

Early in 2022, Eureka Solutions staff all received an exciting message. It asked us to ‘Save the Date’ for a festive weekend away … destination top secret!

Given this would be the first time since pre-pandemic that all staff and their partners/guests will have had the opportunity to get together in one place, and previous weekends away have always been in fantastic destinations, the speculation over where we might be going started immediately!

Armed only with the information that we would need both our winter jackets and our glad rags, a series of clues in the lead up to the big date enabled us to narrow it down, and it was eventually revealed as The Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews. Wow – a truly beautiful hotel in a truly spectacular location.

It was chilly but the sun was shining as everyone started arriving either by coach or car, and it continued to shine on us throughout the day.

It was wonderful to see faces old and new as everyone arrived for morning coffee. The Eureka Solutions team has grown pretty significantly since lockdown began, so many people were meeting in person for the first time, especially our spouses and partners.

After a warming morning coffee and shortbread, we were treated to an icebreaker experience that certainly set the rhythm for the rest of the weekend as we were transformed into a giant samba band!

Lunch was followed by the serious part of the day – a bit of healthy competition between teams – organised by the fantastic team at Team Challenge – and the opportunity to explore the beautiful town of St Andrews while undertaking challenges and testing general knowledge. One or two teams may also have taken a pub related detour……

After the prize giving (and wooden spoon giving) it was time to chill before getting the glad rags on for a drinks reception, during which a presentation was given to the latest member of our team to reach 15 years of service – congratulations Andrew, and thank you!

The meal was certainly not a quiet occasion as it was interspersed with an interactive take on everyone’s favourite game shows and followed by a real treat – a showcase of the talents of Worbey and Farrell – internationally acclaimed concert pianists with a twist … four hands on one piano … so impressive!

Then it was party time, who doesn’t love a dance?

The whole weekend was superb, from the amount of organisation behind the scenes which is greatly appreciated (particularly while keeping the destination a secret), to the enthusiasm and participation of our significant others as well as our team members, to the stunning location and entertainment. We all feel invigorated and closer as a team as a result.

We’ve put together a video of the highlights – feel free to check it out!
